I see myself as an 'accidental' evaluator having come from a career in science and public policy. I managed my first evaluation project as a policy analyst in the health portfolio. With post graduate qualifications in public policy and public health I found a natural affinity to evaluative thinking and applying research methods to evaluate policies and programs. Somehow I got 'hooked'. Since 2008, after a 20 year career in government, I've been working as an independent evaluation consultant. As someone once said, 'life wasn't meant to be easy', but then I'd rather face a few challenges than be bored.
